New Year’s Day Traditions cheap! Black Eye Peas & Greens BOGO at Publix

It is Southern tradition the first food to be eaten on New Year’s Day should be black-eyed peas for luck and prosperity. Specifically, one pea for each day of the year. 

My Mother in Law cooks greens to be eaten with the black-eyed peas for added wealth.

And also to round it out cornbread which represents gold bars for the tradition.
