Old System – Old System registers calculate the digital coupon’s threshold including the “free item” in a BOGO sale. Areas who have the old system only need to spend half of the $20 threshold of the coupon.
NEW system registers – The digital coupon’s threshold is calculated after the BOGO sale price, so you do not count the free item. Your total needs to be $20 after the BOGO sale has applied

Use:
Old System $5.49 for two ~ $2.75
